Jessica Fearnley, Department of Primary Industries
Jessica Fearnley is a passionate 23 year old from Bathurst where her family owns a small beef cattle business. In her short agricultural career she has been involved in many different areas of agriculture, including meat judging and research projects in developing countries. She has been involved with many agricultural committees looking to make differences in agriculture with her highlight being the Industry Dinner Representative of UNE’s Farming Future’s Committee. She has just recently graduated university with a Bachelor of Rural Science with First Class Honours for her project investigating the use of phosphorous fertilisers in alkaline soils. Before beginning her current job she finished an overseas ACIAR project in Cambodia as part of the Crawford Fund Student Award. She’s now a Development Officer for Temperate Fruits at Department of Primary Industries, located at the Orange Agricultural Institute.
