2019 Conference

The Australian Women in Agriculture (AWiA) Conference is held on an annual basis in different states across Australia. For 2019, the conference will be held at the Ramada Hotel, Ballina, NSW from the 1st to the 3rd of November 2019.

The AWiA conference is the signature event for Australian Women in Agriculture, attracting between 120 and 150 women from across Australia and some from the Pacific Region as well. The women attending the conference come from a range of back grounds, with many involved directly with primary production.

Our theme for this year is “Review. Renew. Regenerate.” There will be a strong focus on building skills, knowledge and resilience in women and business in Australian Agriculture.

We will also be launching our Australian Women in Agriculture youth committee and are hoping that with industry support we can ensure at least 30 women are provided with the opportunity to attend the conference through a scholarship.

The 2019 AWiA Conference Program will be released mid-August on the AWiA website and social media pages. (www.awia.org.au or @AustWomenInAg)

The event will commence will with a twilight cocktail party beside the Richmond River, follow by conference proceedings on Saturday and a gala dinner in the Point Restaurant on Saturday evening. Conference workshops will be held on Sunday morning followed by delegate tours to local attractions.

With some of the most dynamic, forward-thinking women in Australian agriculture set to inspire and influence and challenge our current and upcoming generation of women, this is an event not to be missed.

Conference delegates include farmers, industry leaders, professional and industry support workers, government employees and community leaders. The women that attend the conference are well connected and often involved in positions where they are key influencers either in the present or in the future.

With a strong focus on sustainability and regenerative agriculture the 2019 AWiA conference will also educate and introduce and development attendee’s knowledge of sustainable and regenerative agricultural principles and ideologies that are innovative and applicable to industry today and into the future.

The Conference is an event open to all women from rural, regional and remote Australia .
