Amelia Shaw, Policy Manager Rural Affairs, Grain Growers
Amelia Shaw hails from sunny Queensland having spent a period of her childhood on sheep and cattle stations before moving to Townsville for schooling. Having completed a Bachelor of Business Management (Marketing) and Arts (Political Science and International Relations) from the University of Queensland, Amelia’s first post-study career was with an advertising agency in brand management, developing tv commercials and other advertising materials. Amelia started her career in Ag a little over two years when she took up a policy role with AgForce Queensland Farmers where she feel in love the with industry and grew a passion for helping the voices of farmers be heard. In July 2019, Amelia joined the GrainGrowers policy team as Policy Manager for Rural Affairs having carriage over drought, agribusiness, telecommunications, transport and innovation policy portfolios.
Outside of her agricultural passions, Amelia in 2018 was elected to the position of President for the Australian Institute of International Affairs QLD holding the position as youngest person in the role since its inception in 1919. Amelia has a keen interest in travel and most weekends can be found exploring the whatever city she may find herself in to uncover the best baked goods!

We work to build a more efficient, sustainable and profitable grain production sector. Key pillars are policy & research, alongside leadership & events designed to build on knowledge & capability of our growers. Our growers are at the heart of all that we do and the focus of our work.
