Jill Waterhouse

Jill Waterhouse was born in Canberra and remembers the green lucerne paddocks underneath Commonwealth Avenue Bridge before they were flooded by the waters of Lake Burley Griffin in 1964. After graduating from the Australian National University (ANU), she tutored in the History Department at the ANU and later lectured in British History in Cambridge UK. She has also worked in museums. Currently researching Australian History, she enjoyed writing “The History of University House: As They Experienced It, 1954-2004.”
