The Agenda Plus — Remote, Regional and Ready for for board project training is facilitated by two professional women whom themselves work remotely in a Rural and Regional Australia.

Dr Rowan O’Hagan

Dr Rowan O’Hagan FAICD has a background in agricultural science, regional economics and accounting. Her current governance roles are Graduate Member of Charles Sturt University Council, and Director at Coliban Water where she is Chair of the Audit Committee. Her previous board positions include North East Water, WAW Credit Union and Gateway Community Health.

Rowan is Principal of Rowan O’Hagan Consulting, specialising in contract research and project management.  Her research and consulting interests include business and capacity building in the primary industry and water sectors, climate adaptation, governance and risk management.

Rowan is actively engaged in the rural women’s and sustainability movements both locally and internationally as founding member of Australian Women in Agriculture (AWiA Ltd), the Wangaratta Sustainability Network and the North East Regional Sustainability Alliance and was a RIRDC Victorian Rural Woman Award Finalist in 2010.

She is passionate about regional Australia and committed to building vibrant and diverse regional communities through democratic decision making and access to quality services.

Tammy Atkins

Tammy Atkins is a consultant at Tammy Atkins Consulting, with a career interest in regional policy and economic development and experience working with all three tiers of government. She is a graduate of the Australian Rural Leadership Program.

Community-minded, she is a member of a number of local organisations and a former Councillor for the Rural City of Wangaratta. Tammy lives on a dairy farm in Northeast Victoria and consults mainly in the grant writing, social media and social enterprise space.

Her professional memberships include the Australian Institute of Company Directors, the Institute of Community Directors Australia and the Australian Rural Leadership Foundation.

Her current board positions include Wodonga Institute of TAFE, Winton Wetlands Committee of Management and the Into our Hands Community Foundation.
