Australian Women in Agriculture (AWiA) look forward to welcoming you to Canberra in the ACT for our National Conference ‘‘Women shaping our future: Reflections from the Limestone Plains’ on the 9 – 11 September 2016.
Come and join us and experience a unique Canberra welcome. Meet women from across Australia a you come to appreciate this living and breathing environment that has depended on its women for its success. Women who have undertaken myriad roles for their community and families: farmers, pastoralists, wine makers, mothers, public servants, teachers and nurses. It is a rural community writ large and its name: the Bush Capital – resonates. It is more than Parliament House.
The women of the Limestone Plains have and continue to leave an indelible imprint on Canberra’s self-energising and vigorous landscape. It is not only the pioneering women we come to celebrate but also those whose contribution is still to come. Women have been central to the vitality of this agricultural and environmentally beautiful region.
We are providing an exceptional program that will interest, inspire, encourage and motivate. You will network and learn from and with women from across Australia and hear from women whose influence has played out on the local, national and international stage.
Our Conference will be held at University House, Australian National University, Canberra, ACT, a superb venue located 10 minutes’ drive from the Canberra Airport [See Travel n Tours].
We hope you will leave Canberra energised and having made connections you never anticipated, being inspired by women you never thought you would meet and that this experience will give you a foundation for change and inspiration in your own communities.
