Australian Women in Agriculture are excited to announce that our organisation will be represented at the 2015 Paris Climate Conference (COP21) events in Paris this week.
This will be an historic event, which will, for the first time in 20 years of UN negotiations, aim to achieve a legally binding and universal agreement of climate, with the aim of keeping global warming below 2°C.
The event will be attracting participants from intergovernmental organisations, UN agencies, and civil society.
One of the highlights of these events will be contributions to discussions from NGOs that support women and agriculture.
An important event, at which AWiA will be represented, is the Women’s Earth and Climate Action Network ‘Women Leading Solutions on the Frontlines of Climate Change’ on December 7th, which will include contributions from Dr Vandana Shiva and Dr Jane Goodall, among other distinguished speakers.
AWiA will be providing valuable input from recent consultations undertaken, such as our submissions to the Australian Government’s landmark White Paper on Agricultural Competitiveness.
